However, after recently trying out some quality mask products (Double Duty being one of them), I have been officially converted!First, I want to confess I had some hesitation in the preparation phase for the mask. For some reason, I saw powder and immediately thought “Oh no, this is gonna be time consuming and messy.” Omg, I was proven completely wrong. If you have concern over powder products requiring work, I can reassure you, mixing the powder is super simple and actually a lot of fun because you get to see the ingredients as you mix and take in the aromas.I used 1 teaspoon of Double Duty powder and mixed with 2 teaspoons of warm water. Even before mixing, I can smell the sweet pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and oats; pretty enticing. Within 30 seconds of mixing, I made a thin paste.Applying the mask is easy and it dries in less than 5-6 minutes. I initially left the mask on my face for 10 minutes which left my face a bit taut. I would recommend waiting no longer after 7-8 minutes to wash your face. Otherwise, you may spend a bit of time on the rinsing part.So how did my skin feel afterwards? (remember, I was skeptical up to this point). My face felt noticeably cleaner and quite smooth. My pores appeared a bit smaller, but here is where Double Duty receives accolades. Double Duty provides an efficient and gentle facial exfoliation without physically scrubbing. Okay I may have rubbed a few circles while applying the mask but it felt super good while massaging and kinda like the natural thing to do with this mask. I realized how well exfoliated my skin was when I washed my face with soap and water later in the evening. Besides a little tingling on the skin, all that was left were a couple of dry patches on my chin. All that was needed then was moisturization.Key ingredients that make me smile:Pumpkin fruit powder: pumpkin fruit is a rich source of exfoliating enzymes, antioxidants, betacarotene, vitamins and mineralsHoney powder: honey is good for cleansing skin with its anti- bacterial and anti-inflammatory qualitiesCoconut milk powder: moisturizes and softens skinOat powder: oat offers barrier protection, skin moisturization as well as cleansing benefits. Also soothing, the avenanthramides possess potent anti-inflammatory capabilities.Marketing label: Double Duty is a 2 in 1 mask + exfoliant. This is a super gentle exfoliation. After 1 month of use, 2 times a week, I found this to be a very good way to exfoliate without the use of a harsh scrub (this coming from a scrub addict). The way I incorporate this into my skin care regimen is to add it as a mask/ exfoliant in between times of scrub use. It is also good to use when your skin feels sensitive or dry and you don’t want to turn it raw by scrubbing. Or it can be used alone as your single exfoliant/ mask. Overall, luv!RAVE FACTOR 3.5 RAVES*This product was provided to me by Tina Porter of Cutiepitutie Bath and Body. This review is based on my own experience with this product after 4 weeks of use, 2 times a week in February 2014. Please keep in mind everyone’s skin is different and that you may have a different experience when using this product. The skin type I have is combination skin and prior to trying this product, I refrained from using any exfoliants or scrubs for 10 days.
