Chikyu Facial Toner - Parched Skin

Many moons ago when I was a teenager, I remember using an astringent called sea breeze. The alcohol-y, minty, medicinal smell always stayed with me in my mind even as an adult. It did work to remove excess oil from my acne prone skin however, I never did enjoy the smell.

Fast forward many years later, I never really incorporated the use of a toning agent in my skin care regimen, until recently.

For my combination skin with dry and red cheeks, I look for toner products with minimal to no alcohol content to prevent further dehydration.

Chikyu's Facial Toner for Parched Skin is an ideal freshener because it is completely alcohol free. The blend of botanical extracts are made through steam distillation and come together nicely to hydrate, freshen, calm and soften skin plus battle aging.

Here are the ways I used Chikyu's Facial toner for Parched Skin:

• (after cleansing) to remove any residual cleanser, dead skin, dirt or pollution loosened from cleansing
• to  help balance + prep my skin (after cleansing) prior to applying any moisturizers or night creams
• to set my make-up right after applying
• as a freshener during the day over my make-up 
• to help hydrate my skin in general + for days I don't wear any make-up

The toner comes in a easy to use spray top, frosted glass bottle. It's easy to spray onto a cotton pad or apply directly using your hands. The scent is very memorable; a light herbal-leafy scent which doesn't leave your skin sticky in any fashion. After applying toner, my face indeed feels soft and supple as if I applied a light moisturizer to my skin! I have to admit, I became a bit addicted to using my toner throughout the day.

Cucumber and aloe vera extracts in particular have been studied to show better viscoelastic and hydration effects on skin, so it's no surprise to me the blend of these all together help to make my skin feel supple soft and more hydrated.

**I did want to mention for those who prioritize shelf life, the shelf life of this product is 3-6 months. This is a chemical free product and comes with a sticker telling you when to use the product by. Personally, I prefer to use a chemical free product even if that means an early use by date.
