Laurel Whole Plant Organics Transform Daily Facial Balm

I used to think balms were a type of product good for just healing burns, minor cuts or dry irritated skin. Never did I fathom applying a "balm" on my face as a moisturizer.

But ever since starting this website, I've come to try a variety of products that I hadn't appreciated before, and now have a new outlook on using different products.

I'm soooooo happy to have tried Laurel Shaffer's phenomenal facial balm. The balm, part of her skin care line, Laurel Whole Plant Organics is one of the best nourishing facial products I have, ever, ever, used. Don't let the richness of the balm frighten you.

A small dab of the finger is enough to moisturize my face from morning through evening and it works well underneath sunblock and make-up (what a plus!), just perfect for adding a dewy appearance to my skin. The light yellow tinged balm feels like a thin honey, just without the stickiness. The tiny granules in my balm simply melted into my skin, making it feel amazingly soft and nourished. The scent of the balm uplifts while imparting images of lemon infused sweet herbs.

Directions say to use as a daytime moisturizer, but I loved it so much, I also supplemented my night regimen with it at least 3-4 nights during the week.
Myself having combination skin, I was concerned applying a product so rich this frequently, but found this schedule to work out pretty well on my skin. No breakouts to report.

I also want to add the balm itself is contained in a jar made of MIRON glass to help preserve + protect from UV light, adding quite a bit of sexiness to the product I have to say. Very nice Laurel!

The picture below shows the healing facial balm with tiny shea butter granules. Due to the extremely hot weather in California, the balm melted on the way to me and cooled, resulting in shea butter granules forming.

Laurel reassured me, 30 minutes in the freezer, my facial balm would be good as originally created. After placing in the freezer for 30 minutes, it solidified some but honestly, I love using it in either consistency.

So let's look at some of the ingredients

Jojoba Oil: softens skin, acts as an emollient, possible anti-inflammatory benefits

Shea Butter: excellent moisturizer

Rosehip Seed Oil: the phytochemicals, specifically Vitamin C, polyphenol and flavonoid content provide antioxidant benefits

Red Raspberry Seed Oil: polyphenols provide antioxidant benefits

Borage Seed Oil: skin softening benefit + possible anti-inflammatory benefit

Sea Buckthorn Oil: polyphenols provide antioxidant benefit

Calendula: has anti-inflammatory effects as well as promotes wound healing

Comfrey: hydrates and promotes healing of the skin with allantoin, mucilage and phenolic acid content, anti-inflammatory benefit

Nettle: anti-inflammatory and astringent qualities

Marketing label: The Transform Daily Facial Balm is a waterless, soft, smooth balm that absorbs quickly into the skin. An ideal day time face moisturizer for those who need a little help maintaining moisture throughout the day.

After 4 weeks of use, this healing balm really kept my skin well hydrated, definitely throughout the day; soft, youthful hence making me feel + look pretty glam. :)

Laurel Whole Plant Organics transform daily facial balm is perfect to use on my combination skin and would recommend it for dry or combination skin. As this balm is a heavier product, for those with oily skin, I would recommend requesting a sample from Laurel to try it out first.
